BEEF BAKED WITH MUSHROOMS | |
2 lbs. round steak 1/4 c. flour 2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. black pepper 3 tbsp. butter 1/2 c. minced onion 1 can, (3 oz.) mushrooms 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 c. dairy sour cream Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut steak into 6 serving pieces. Combine flour, salt and pepper in shallow dish. Dredge steak in flour mixture. Melt butter in large, heavy skillet. Brown steak on both sides. Remove meat to a well greased 2 quart casserole. Cook onion in butter remaining in skillet until golden and soft. Arrange onions over meat. Cover the meat and onion with mushrooms, mushroom soup and sour cream. Bake, covered, for 2 hours, or until steak is tender. |
