HEARTY CHILI (EASY) 
1 lb. hamburger
3 (15 oz.) cans red kidney beans (dark red), drained
2 (15 oz.) cans stewed tomatoes
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 green pepper, sliced
1 c. tomato sauce
Chili powder to taste
Black pepper to taste

Brown hamburger and drain fat. In large saucepan, combine all ingredients, add chili powder to taste; more for hotter chili; less for mild chili; same with black pepper. (1/2 teaspoon = mild - chili powder; 1/4 teaspoon = mild black pepper.) Simmer on low heat for a few hours until onions and peppers are very tender. Can be very flexible with ingredient amounts according to preference. Serves about 6 to 8.
