SWEDISH APPLE SHORTCAKE | |
PASTRY: 1/2 c. butter 1/3 c. confectioners' sugar 3/4 c. cornstarch 3/4 c. flour 1/4 tsp. salt Cream butter and sugar. Add cornstarch and flour. Pat into a 9 inch square pan. Chill. FILLING: 6 c. sliced apples 1 c. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. butter Combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon. Place over pastry. Dot with butter. Cover with aluminum foil. Bake 50 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove foil. Bake another 25 minutes longer. |
