GRANDMA'S RICE PUDDING 
1 c. rice
1 tsp. salt
2 c. cold water
2 qts. milk
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2 tsp. vanilla

Put rice, salt and water into large pot. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally until all water is gone. Add 1/3 of milk and cook uncovered until most of milk is absorbed. Add 1/3 milk; cook again. Add remaining milk and sugar. Cook until creamy. Remove from heat. Add vanilla.
