APPLE CRISP 
7 to 9 tart apples
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. pecans or chopped nuts of your choice

Slice and peel apples and place in pie plate or small flat glass pan. Add 1/2 of the sugar. Combine remaining ingredients and spread over apples. Do not stir. Bake in 350 degree oven for one hour. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.
