1 (9 oz.) pkg. mincemeat
1/2 c. water
1 c. walnuts, chopped
3/4 c. mixed candied fruit
1 can condensed milk
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Break mincemeat in small pieces and put in a 2 quart saucepan. Add water. Cook until lumps are broken up. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat and cool. Add nuts, fruit, condensed milk, egg and blend well. Stir in flour and soda until well blended.

Pour into a 9 x 4 x 3 loaf pan which has been greased, waxed paper lined, and greased again. Bake in 350 degree oven 1 1/2 hours, until center springs back and top is golden brown.
