MAGIC FRUIT SURPRISE CAKE 
2 (9 oz.) pkg. mincemeat
1 c. water
2 c. walnut meats, coarsely chopped
2 c. (1 lb.) mixed candied fruit, coarsely chopped
2 (15 oz.) cans sweetened condensed milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Break mincemeat into small pieces and put in a 4 quart sauce pan. Add water, place over heat and stir until lumps are thoroughly broken. Boil briskly 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool. Add nuts, candied fruit, milk and eggs. Blend well. Stir in flour and soda until just blended. Pour mixture into deep round pan lined with several thicknesses of oiled paper. Bake in 350 degree oven for 2 hours or until top is golden brown.
