BLACK MAGIC CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
4 squares of Baker's chocolate 4 tbsp. Crisco 2 c. sugar 2 egg yolks 1 3/4 c. milk 3/4 tsp. salt 2 c. sifted cake flour 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. baking soda Melt chocolate and Crisco in top of double boiler. Remove and cool to lukewarm. Add sugar and mix well. Combine egg yolks with 1 cup of milk and add to chocolate mixture. Blend together. Add salt, flour and heat. Add vanilla and 1/2 cup milk. Dissolve soda in 1/4 cup milk. Stir quickly into batter. Make 2 (9") layers. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. |
