CARAMEL CAKE 
CAKE:

1 box Duncan Hines butter recipe golden cake mix
4 eggs
3/4 c. oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sour cream

ICING:

1 box Domino light brown sugar
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 stick butter
1 tbsp. white Karo syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

CAKE: Mix all ingredients of cake until well blended and bake in three layers at 350 degrees. Cool.

ICING: Mix all icing ingredients except vanilla in large saucepan. Stir over medium high heat until mixture comes to boil that can't be stirred down. Reduce heat, keeping mixture at a boil, boiling exactly three minutes. Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Place saucepan in cold water in sink, stir with a spoon until mixture thickens. Spread icing on cake quickly.
