GRANDMA'S SCHAUM TORTE | |
7 egg whites 1 3/4 c. white sugar 1 tbsp. vinegar 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar Pinch of salt Beat egg white until stiff. Add sugar very gradually at first. Add remaining ingredients. Continue beating until mix is very thick. Pour in ungreased pan. Bake 30 minutes in a 250 degree oven. Turn off and leave 15 minutes longer in oven. 2nd method of baking: Preheat oven to 400 degrees and as you put torte in oven turn off heat entirely and leave at least 3 hours. |
