ITALIAN CREME CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c. shortening
5 eggs
1 c. milk
2 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans, chopped
2 oz. coconut or more, to taste

CREAM CHEESE ICING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 stick butter
1 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. pecans, chopped
6 oz. coconut

To make cake, combine sugar, butter, and shortening. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add and beat in milk and flour alternately. Finally add vanilla, pecans and coconut. Mix well. Bake in 3 greased and floured pans at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool and frost. To make frosting, mix softened cheese and butter together. Beat in sugar and vanilla and finally add pecans and coconut. Spread between layers and on top and sides of cake.
