MAMA'S LIGHT BREAD LOAVES AND
ROLLS
 
6 c. sifted plain flour
2 c. lukewarm water
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. Crisco
1 pkg. reg. dry Fleischman's yeast
butter

Dissolve yeast in water. Mix flour, sugar, salt, Crisco, and water with dissolved yeast. Knead dough until stiff. Let rise in large clean bowl for about an hour (or 2, if needed). Cover bowl with cloth. Needs to double in size. Put out on slightly floured surface and apply butter or Crisco to knead and shape.

Let loaves or rolls rise again - about an hour or until risen double or more. Be sure to cover with cloth. Bake in a 350 degree oven about 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Baste with butter or Crisco.
