OVEN BARBECUED SPARERIBS 
4 lbs. spareribs
1/2 c. onion, finely chopped
1 c. water
1 c. ketchup
2 tbsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. brown sugar
Little dry mustard
Little salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Cut ribs in serving size pieces; brown ribs slowly in skillet. Put into a baking pan; discard all but 2 tablespoons of fat. Add onion and brown. Add next 9 ingredients; simmer, covered, for about 20 minutes. Pour sauce over ribs. Bake ribs, covered, in a moderate oven (350 degrees) for 1 1/2 hours.
