APPLE BREAD
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
2 lg. apples, cored and cut into 8 pieces
1/4 c. nuts
Glaze

Combine sugar, butter and eggs in food processor with steel blade and process until light and fluffy. Add milk, vanilla, cinnamon and salt.

In a separate bowl, stir together flour, soda, and baking powder; set aside. Add apples to sugar, butter, egg and seasoning mixture, turn processor on and off 2 times. Add nuts, turn on and off 2 times. Add flour mixture, turn on and off 4 times or just until flour disappears. Bake in a well greased 9 by 5 pan for 50 to 55 minutes at 350 degrees.

Remove from pan and glaze. To make glaze, take 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon, 2 tablespoons butter, 1 tablespoons water and blend with steel blade in food processor until smooth. Spread over warm bread. This tastes like cake. The top usually cracks, so the glaze sinks in.
