HEIDELBERGER TORTE 
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix (with pudding)
1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
3/4 c. Kirsch Likor (cherry liquor) or rum or brandy

FROSTING:

1 pkg. instant French Vanilla pudding, cook & cool
1 container Cool Whip

Pour cherry pie filling into bowl and mix carefully with 1/4 cup liquor. Let stand and soak for 1 to 2 hours. Prepare cake mix according to the package directions, using butter or oil, eggs and no water, instead use 1/2 cup liquor. Spread batter in greased 9 x 13 inch pan; spoon cherry pie filling evenly over batter. Fold filling just a little bit into batter. Bake at 350 degrees 60 to 65 minutes, cool.

FROSTING: Cook French vanilla pudding and cool; mix with Cool Whip.

Spread with Cool Whip and instant French vanilla pudding frosting, then chocolate and shavings.
