BETTY'S BOURBON BALLS 
1 pkg. (6 oz.) semi sweet chocolate pieces
1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. light corn syrup
1 c. finely chopped walnuts
1/3 c. bourbon
1 pkg. (7-1/4 oz.) vanilla wafers (42 wafers) finely crushed
Extra sugar for rolling cookies

Melt chocolate over hot water. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup sugar and the corn syrup. Blend in bourbon.

Combine crumbs and nuts, add chocolate mixture and blend well. Shape quickly into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar. Store in airtight container and let stand several days to ripen before serving.

Makes 4-1/2 dozen.
