FAVORITE PANCAKES 
1 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 beaten egg
1 c. milk
2 tbsp. salad oil

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Combine egg, milk and salad oil; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. Using 1 tablespoon or 1/4 cup batter for each pancake, bake batter on hot, lightly greased griddle until golden. Turn once. Makes about 12 dollar size or 8 (4-inch) pancakes. For thinner pancakes, add an additional 2 tablespoons of shortening to the batter.
