RAISED DOUGHNUTS 
2 pkgs. yeast
1 c. warm (lukewarm)
1 c. milk
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs, beaten
7 to 7 1/2 c. flour

Heat milk, sugar, salt and shortening together, in the meantime dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. When milk mixture is cooled add to yeast mixture. Add 3 cups flour and beat well. Add eggs and continue beating. Add remaining flour and knead well. Cover and let rise until doubled in size. Roll 1/2 inch thick. Cut out and let rise again. Fry in deep fat.

GLAZE:

1/4 box confectioners' sugar
4 tbsp. warm water
1 tsp. vanilla

Dip while warm and let cool.
