HICKORY NUT PUDDING 
1 egg, beaten
1 c. raisins, soaked in boiling water 30 minutes
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. hickory nuts or pecans
1 c. sweet milk
1 c. bread crumbs

Soak raisins in just enough water to cover. Mix all other ingredients together and add raisins. Bake in 12"x16" pan at 350 degrees until golden brown. Cut in squares and serve with sauce or you can pour sauce over the pudding and then cut and serve.

SAUCE:

1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour

Add enough cream or milk to make a paste. Add 1 cup boiling water and cook 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pour over pudding.
