OLD FASHIONED HICKORY NUT CAKE | |
2 c. sugar 2/3 c. butter 3 eggs 1/8 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking powder 2 1/2 c. flour 1 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. hickory nuts Cream sugar, butter, and eggs. Mix salt, baking powder, and flour. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, vanilla and nuts. Bake in greased 9x13 inch pan in 325 degrees for 45-50 minutes. PENUCHE FROSTING: 1/2 c. butter 1 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. milk 2 c. confectioners' sugar 1 tsp. vanilla Melt butter in skillet. Add brown sugar, boil 2 minutes. Add milk, bring to a boil, cool to lukewarm. Add confectioners' sugar and vanilla. Can use more nuts on top. |
