GRANDMA'S SUGAR CUT-OUT COOKIES 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. lard or vegetable shortening
1/2 c. butter, softened
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sour milk (or 1 tbsp. vinegar added to milk)
1 tsp. baking soda
5 1/2 c. flour (or enough to make stiff dough)

Mix flour, salt and baking soda in a separate bowl; set aside. Cream sugar, lard and butter. Add eggs. Add dry ingredients alternating with milk. Chill. Roll out to desired thickness and cut into shapes. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
