DATE AND NUT BREAD 
1 pkg. dates (chopped)
3 c. sugar, granulated
3 c. boiling water
4 tbsp. butter
2 eggs
5 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped nuts

Mix dates, sugar, butter and water together. Let cool. Mix flour, soda, salt, tartar, baking powder together in separate bowl. Add vanilla, and beaten eggs to top mixture. Blend dry ingredients into wet mixture a little at a time. Mix well. Add nuts. Bake in bread tins or glass baking dishes. Bake at 325 degrees for approximately 1 hour.
