BOILED RAISIN COOKIES 
2 c. raisins
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter, softened
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
16 oz. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped pecans

Boil the raisins in 1 c. water for 5 min. Add baking soda when cool. Mix the brown sugar, butter and eggs. Stir in the salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir in the raisins and water. Mix the flour with the baking powder and stir into the raisin mixture. Add the chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by tsp. on greased cookie sheet.

Bake 325 for 10-12 min.

Makes approximately 4 dozen cookies.
