PEANUT BUTTER ICE BOX COOKIES 
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. chunk style peanut butter
2 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening and sugar until light. Beat in peanut butter, egg, milk and vanilla. Sift flour, salt and soda into mixture. Mix well. Spread dough out on wax paper. Melt chocolate over hot water or in microwave. Spread over dough. Roll like a jelly roll by lifting wax paper with each roll. Chill 1 hour. Slice into 1/4 inch thickness. Heat on greased cookie sheet.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
