STRAWBERRY CUSTARD PIE 
2 to 3 c. fresh strawberries
1 c. water
1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
3/4 c. sugar
1 sm. box strawberry Jello
Red food coloring
2 egg yolks
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
2 1/3 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Cool Whip

Wash and slice strawberries, reserving one or two large strawberries for garnish. Cook over medium heat, strawberries, water, cornstarch, and sugar. Add red food coloring and Jello. Set aside.

In separate pan, cook egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch and milk until thickened. Add vanilla. Cool. Pour cooled custard into prepared and baked 9 inch pie shell. Pour strawberry mixture on top of custard mixture and spread Cool Whip over top. Garnish as desired.
