FRENCH APPLE COBBLER 
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

FILLING:

5-6 c. apples, sliced
1/3 c. sugar
1 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 c. water

Combine all except butter. Turn into a baking dish. Dot the top of apples with butter.

BATTER:

1/2 c. flour
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. butter
1 egg, slightly beaten

Melt butter. Combine all ingredients. Drop batter on top of apples in several portions. Bake 35-40 minutes.
