CUBE STEAK BAVARIAN STYLE | |
4 beef cubed steaks (1-1 1/4 lb.) 1 tbsp. cooking oil 1/3 c. chopped onion 2 1/2 c. water 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tsp. caraway seeds 2 env. mushroom gravy mix 2 tbsp. vinegar In large skillet, quickly brown steaks on both sides in hot oil. Add onion; cook until onion is almost tender, about 5 minutes. Combine water, mushroom gravy mix, brown sugar, vinegar and caraway seed; pour over steaks in skillet. Cover; simmer for 15 minutes. Skim off excess fat. Serve with gravy. Makes 4 servings. |
