CHEX MIX PUPPY CHOW
9 cups Chex Mix 1 cup chocolate chips 1/2 cup peanut butter 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter 1/4 teaspoon vanilla 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar Put cereal in large bowl. Melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour over Chex cereal, put into a large plastic bag with powdered sugar and shake well to coat. Spread mixture evenly on wax paper and allow to cool.

Lisa, my daughter is also allergic to peanuts, so we use Nutella instead of peanut butter... Nutella is made from hazelnuts, and it tastes divine...

I use this recipe all the time. I add my own twist to it. I use 1/2 cup mint chips and 1/2 cup chocolate chips to give it a holiday flavor. I love it!

Super easy and fun! I just made this and you should DOUBLE or TRIPLE the chocolate, peanut butter, and butter if you want to coat 9 cups of Chex. Also, for those of you who may not be master bakers (ummm I'm not that's how I know) make sure you REMOVE from heat before adding vanilla and then IMMEDIATELY pour over Chex. The mixture will solidify quickly if you don't. I had to start over, but don't tell anyone! LOL... Enjoy!

I'm asked to make this every year. I double chips, peanut butter and butter. I also use Hersheys Special Dark chips instead and a little extra powedered sugar than called for. Perfect!!!
