SWEDISH HEIRLOOM COOKIES | |
2 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 c. shortening 1/2 c. butter 1 c. sifted powdered sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. water 1 tbsp. vanilla 1 1/4 c. ground almonds Cream shortening and butter at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add powdered sugar and salt; mix well. Stir in flour. Add water, vanilla, and almonds. Stir well. Shape cookie dough into one inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and flatten. Bake at 325 degrees for 12 minutes. Dredge warm cookies in powdered sugar. Yield: 4 dozen. |
