1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. milk

Cream together butter and shortening. Add sugar, eggs, flour, etc. usual way. Bake at 325 degrees for 80 minutes.

ICING:

3 c. sugar
3/4 c. milk
3/4 c. cocoa
3/4 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. Karo syrup
Pinch of salt

Mix all together except for vanilla. Boil 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and beat.
