Take box of raisins, cover with water. Add 3/4 cup sugar - boil 20 minutes.

2 tbsp. cornstarch and water to make paste. Add to raisin mixture. 1/2 c. shortening 1 egg 3 1/2 c. flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla

2x:
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
7 c. flour
6 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla

3x:
3 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. shortening
3 eggs
10 1/2 c. flour
9 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. vanilla

(Such a pain to make - always make lots at one time.)

Mix ingredients in order given, sifting the flour with baking powder and salt. Roll thin and cut out 3 1/2 to 4 inch circle. Put on greased cookie sheet. Place a tsp. of raisin filling on each. Place another circle on top, pinch edges closed. Bake 350 degrees until bottom is brown. These are a pain (takes a long time) but are good.
