1 c. raisins
2 c. oatmeal
2 c. white sugar
3/4 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking soda in 2 tbsp. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. flour

Grind raisins and oatmeal. Mix sugar and shortening until creamy. Add soda, vanilla, 2 eggs, and mix well. Add flour, raisins, oatmeal; mix thoroughly. Roll in balls, place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in moderate oven. Do not over bake. These cookies crinkle beautifully after removed from oven.
