1 c. sugar 3/4 c. butter 1 c. honey 1/2 c. cream 1 tsp. cinnamon & cloves 4 3/4 - 5 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. chopped citron (opt.) Combine first 3 ingredients and bring to boil. Cool. Add all other ingredients. Mix well. Chill. BAKING VARIATIONS: 1. Roll in 1" balls. Place on cloth, let set overnight. Brush with frosting of 1/4 cup water and 1 cup powdered sugar. Bake 15 to 20 minutes in a 350 degree oven. 2. Bake cookie balls without letting stand overnight and without frosting. Bake 15 minutes in 350 degree oven. Leave plain or roll in powdered sugar while warm. 3. Divide dough in half. Add 4 ounces citron to half of dough. Roll in long 3/4" rolls. Freeze overnight. Slice and bake 8 to 10 minutes. Watch carefully. |
