CRISPY SPICE COOKIES 
3 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. ginger
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. Karo dark corn syrup

Sift first 4 ingredients. Mix butter and sugar; stir in corn syrup. Mix in flour. Roll out 1/8 inch thick on floured surface. Cut out and place on baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes. Brush with Karo corn syrup and sprinkle with colored sugar or candies.

I have been making this cookie since the 1960's when I found the recipe in a Karo Syrup ad in a women's magazine. My daughter and I rate them above any other Christmas cookie we make.
