MRS. C.'S RAISIN SQUARES | |
3 lb. raisins 3 c. sugar 3 c. water 3 tbsp. cornstarch (mix with water until lumps are gone) 3 tbsp. vinegar Put raisins in pan after washing thoroughly. Add sugar and water. Let boil for about 5 minutes. Watch carefully. Add cornstarch and water mixture to raisins along with vinegar. Boil until raisins are soft, watching it closely. Take off heat and put pan in sink full of cold water. Make pie crust. Spread layer on bottom of greased cookie pan. Spread raisin mixture over pie crust. Spread layer of pie crust on top of raisins. Poke a fork all over pie crust. Brush with milk. Bake in 375 degree oven for 1 hour. Remove from oven and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Place pan on damp cloth for 10 minutes. Cut into squares. Remove from pan. |
