DRESSED ONIONS & TOMATOES | |
1/2 c. red wine vinegar 1/3 c. olive oil 4 1/2 tsp. dried basil 1/4 tsp. dried oregano 6 lg. tomatoes, peeled & sliced 2 med. red onions, thinly sliced 4 1/2 tsp. sugar Salt to taste Ground pepper to taste 1 1/2 tsp. tarragon Combine vinegar, oil, basil, oregano and tarragon in small bowl, and whisk until well blended. Layer half of tomatoes in serving bowl and cover with half of the onions. Sprinkle with half the sugar, and salt and pepper to taste. Drizzle some of the marinade. Repeat with second layer, using remaining ingredients. Cover and chill before serving. |
