GROUND BEEF VEGETABLE SOUP 
2 tbsp. shortening
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 tbsp. salt
1 (46 oz.) can tomato juice
3 c. water
2 c. thin noodles
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 (10 to 16 oz.) pkg. frozen bag mixed vegetables

Melt shortening in 4 quart saucepan on low heat. Add ground beef, onion, salt and cook until lightly browned. Add tomato juice and water. While liquid boils, add noodles, pepper and cook 10 minutes. Reduce heat and add frozen vegetables. Simmer 10 minutes or until serving time. Serves 10 to 12.
