HAMBURGER VEGETABLE LENTIL SOUP 
1 lb. hamburger, brown until crumbly
5 3/4 c. tomato juice
4 c. water
1 c. lentils, washed
1 c. diced carrots
1 c. diced cabbage
1 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. green pepper or green pepper flakes
1 bay leaf

Cook hamburger until brown, drain grease. Add: tomato juice and water. Add: remaining ingredients. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1 1/2 hours. Freezes well.
