HOT TAMALES 
1 lb. ground beef
2 c. self-rising meal
1 tsp. each: red pepper, black pepper, garlic salt and chili powder
3 tsp. cumin
1/3 c. shortening, melted
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. water

Use heaping tablespoon of mixture. Shape with hand. Place on edge of foil and roll about 3 times. Twist end, place in boiling water for 15 or 20 minutes.
