SKINNY CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
CAKE: 2 cubes butter 2 tbsp. Hershey's chocolate 1 c. water 2 c. flour 2 c. sugar 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. buttermilk 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla FROSTING: 1 cube butter 6 tbsp. milk 4 tbsp. chocolate 1 box powdered sugar Bring to a boil: 2 cubes of butter, 2 tablespoons Hershey's chocolate, 1 cup water. Sift together: 2 cups flour, 2 cups sugar, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt. Pour boiled chocolate over sifted mixture. Beat in: 1/2 cup buttermilk, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or pulled from the sides. 5 minutes before cake is done, melt 1 cube butter, 4 tablespoon chocolate, 6 tablespoon milk. Beat in 1 box powdered sugar and 1 cup chopped nuts (optional). Spread over hot cake right from the oven. Bake in a jelly roll pan 1 inch deep (12 1/2x15 1/2 inches). Serves 16 to 20 people. |
