TURKEY LASAGNE | |
1 lb. ground turkey 1 med. onion, diced 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 bay leaf 1 tsp. oregano 1/2 tsp. basil 1/2 tsp. salt 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes 1/2 med. green pepper, chopped 1 tbsp. oil 1/2 c. carrots, chopped (optional) 1/2 c. broccoli, chopped (optional) 1/2 c. zucchini, chopped (optional) 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese 1 lb. lasagne noodles, cooked In a large pot heat oil and cook over medium heat, onions, pepper and garlic. Add turkey and continue cooking until turkey has lots its redness. Add the rest of the ingredients (except cheese and noodles). Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer and cook for 1 hour. (While sauce is cooking, make noodles.) When sauce is ready, begin to layer in a 13x9x2 pan with a little sauce, pasta and cheese. Continue until pan is about full ending with a nice layer of cheese. Bake at 325 degrees for about 25 to 30 minutes. |
