1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 c. chopped apples
1 c. All-Bran or 2 c. Bran Flakes cereal
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar

Stir together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Beat 1/2 cup butter with granulated sugar. Beat in eggs; stir in apples, cereal, and flour mixture. Spread in greased 9 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. To make frosting, beat cream cheese, 1 tablespoon butter, and vanilla. Gradually add confectioners' sugar; beat until smooth. If too thick, add 1-2 teaspoons milk.
