SAUERBRATEN STEAK 
1 1/2 lb. round steak
1 tbsp. fat (oil)
1 env. brown gravy mix
2 c. water
2 tbsp. white wine vinegar
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 bay leaf

Cut meat in 1-inch squares. In a large skillet, brown meat on all sides in hot fat. Remove meat from skillet; add gravy mix and water. Bring to boil, stirring constantly.

Stir in remaining ingredients. Return meat to skillet; cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaf. Serve over hot buttered noodles.
