HICKORY NUT CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. milk
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder (rounded)
Whites of 5 eggs
1 c. hickory nuts, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients except egg whites. Whip whites until stiff and fold into batter. Spoon into three greased and floured layer pans. Frost with chocolate frosting. Sprinkle 1/2 cup hickory nuts over top.
