STEAK PARMIGIANA | |
1/2 c. plain flour 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese 1 (1 1/2 lb.) round steak, cut into 6 serving size pieces 1 egg, beaten 1/2 c. salad oil 1 lg. onion, chopped 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 1 clove garlic, minced Salt and pepper to taste 2 c. hot water 1 (8 oz.) pkg. Mozzarella cheese, sliced Hot cooked noodles Combine flour and cheese. Dip steak into egg, and coat with flour mixture; brown in hot oil. Place in a shallow baking dish. Saute onion in oil; stir in tomato paste, garlic, salt, pepper, and water. Simmer 10 minutes. Pour sauce over steak and top with cheese slices. Bake, covered, at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Serve over noodles. Yield: 6 servings. |
