WALDORF CAKE 
1/2 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. Nestle's Quick
1 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. baking soda
Red food coloring

Cream Crisco and sugar. Add eggs, coloring and vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Stir in vinegar and soda (DO NOT BEAT). Put in 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 325 to 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

FROSTING FOR WALDORF CAKE:

1 c. milk
1/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook milk and flour until thickened. Cool and add the rest of the ingredients. Beat until spreadable.
