GREEN APPLE DUMPLING AND SAUCE 
3 c. water
2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. vinegar
Coloring
4-6 apples

Bring to boil in saucepan - set aside and make dough. Slice 4-6 apples.

DUMPLING DOUGH:

2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar

Make dough - place sliced apples in flat 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Drop dough evenly over apples. Pour sugar syrup over dough and apples. Bake at 350 degrees until done. Very good made with Gravenstein Apples.
