NUTTY MARSHMALLOW BARS | |
1 c. chopped nuts, I use pecans 3/4 c. flour, all purpose 2/3 c. quick oats 2/3 c. brown sugar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 egg 1/3 c. butter 1 jar (7 oz.) mallow creme 2/3 c. caramel topping for ice cream 1 1/2 c. peanuts or pecans Stir chopped nuts, flour, oats, brown sugar, soda, salt, egg in large bowl. Stir in butter with fork until crumbly. Press into ungreased pan, 13 x 9 inches. Bake 10 minutes. Spoon mallow over hot layer and let stand 1 minute. Spread evenly, drizzle caramel over mallow, sprinkle with 1 1/2 cups nuts. Bake until golden brown 20 minutes. Let stand until cool. Loosen edges with wet knife, cut into 3 x 1/2 inch bars. Makes 24 bars. |
