APPLE CRISP 
1 1/2 c. quick cooking oatmeal, not instant
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. whole wheat flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped
1 c. butter, softened
8 to 10 tart cooking apples, cored & sliced thin

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Combine oatmeal, sugar, flour, cinnamon and nuts; cut into batter. Place apple slices in baking dish (should fill dish about 3/4 full). Sprinkle oatmeal mixture on top. Bake 30 to 35 minutes until light brown on top and bubbly in center. Serve warm with cheese wedges, ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
