FRUIT COCKTAIL SQUARES 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. oil
2 eggs
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (16 oz.) can fruit cocktail, undrained
1/2 c. shredded coconut

Stir sugar, oil and eggs together. Add flour sifted with soda and salt. Then add fruit cocktail. Grease 9x13x2 inch pan and sprinkle with coconut and pour in batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool slightly, then frost. Cut in 3-inch squares.

FROSTING:

1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
1/2 c. chopped coconut
1 tsp. vanilla

Bring to boil butter, sugar, and milk. Cook and stir about 12 minutes or until thick. Stir in nuts, coconut and vanilla.
